Rutland Psalter (1260) Children at Play 1

The illustration at the bottom of this page features two young boys playing together by comparing foot sizes. This illustration (like much of the Rutland Psalter) is completely disconnected to the text found on the page, and may be meant to serve as a lighthearted “break” for the reader. It’s also possible that these were depictions of real children, perhaps those of the commissioner of the book.
